Medical Simulation Research Institute

The Clinical Skills Center of Zhujiang Hospital has established the first medical simulation research institute in China, which takes medical simulation education discipline construction as a development concept. The institute consists of three sections: simulation medicine, simulation education, and simulation transformation, as well as four platforms: simulation teacher training, simulation resource sharing, simulation data analysis, and simulation industry education integration. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and institution enterprise/intercollegiate cooperation, we integrate experts in pedagogy, engineering, materials science and enterprises in model equipment, medical devices and information technology, and set up various horizontal subject funds to jointly create talent training, resource construction, results transformation and integrated academic ecological model, so as to realize the four-way synergistic development of medical treatment, education, scientific research and transformation. We have currently signed production-teaching-research collaboration agreements with a number of enterprises and established academic contacts with a variety of universities, including Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, South China University of Technology, and Guangdong University of Technology. Over the last five years, we have successfully applied for over 20 simulated education research projects and published over 30 articles.
